Tahini Dates Sticks

September 3, 2013 By ilana 1 Comment

Simple, healthy, and easy recipe you can just leave in the freezer till you have friends coming over or feeling hungry for sweet.
Tahini Dates Sticks
What U need:
500 grams dates paste or dates minced with a food processor
3/4 cup almonds
3/4 cup walnuts
1/2 cup tahiti paste
shredded coconut
How it goes:
Mince half of the amount of almonds and walnuts in a food processor. Add the other half and mince for a few seconds till you get a rough texture.
Add the tahini and dates paste and process in pulses for a few times.
Move the mixture to a bowl and knead with wet hands till the mixture is unified.
place wrapping paper on a small tray and move the mixture on top of the wrapping paper.
mold the mixture into the tray’s shape, press it with your hands and wrap the top with a second layer of wrapping paper.
Place the tray in the freezer for a few hours.
remove the tahini-dates block from the tray to a cutting board, remove the wrapping paper and cut for 12 sticks.
Put shredded coconut in a bowl, then coat each stick with the shredded coconut.
Place the sticks on a tray and keep in the freezer till you’re hungry.
Defrost the sticks before eating.
Enjoy!

Dates and coconut make for a great combination but I have never heard of tahini being used with dates. Your recipe is very unique and creative. Thanks for sharing.
